Unfortunately the only offerings for the TACS courses make it difficult for those not living in the immediate area to participate. Primarily, the cost of airfare for 2 consecutive weeks makes it cost prohibitive for many members. If the idea is to expand the number of members with this designation, a virtual classroom makes a whole lot more sense.
I agree. With what has happened in the last year it has made it much more convenient to take courses online for certifications.
Candidly, actually learning commercial real estate cannot be done online, virtually, etc. I’m not really sure the purpose of the designation, but I’ve never seen someone try and operate in both residential and commercial circles and succeed in either.
They are too different – and even with commercial there about a dozen specialties where we don’t cross over disciplines.
I respectfully disagree. Many of the nuances associated with residential are needed when negotiating land assemblages or multi family deals. Many totally commercial brokers do not understand how to write an offer to a residential seller. And many commercial agents are not versed in one of those commercial specialties you mention.
TACS 1 is being offered via Zoom on Monday and Tuesday of next week then finishing up
The following Monday and Tuesday. No need for airfare.
